Poster Printing Singapore — The Complete Guide (Sizes, Materials, Prices)

Poster printing in Singapore covers everything from a simple A4 handout to a full-size A0 exhibition backdrop on hologram film. Most buyers don’t know half the options available — or that the printer they choose makes a significant difference to the final result. This guide covers sizes, materials, print technology and what to prepare.

Poster sizes in Singapore — what each one is actually used for

Singapore uses the ISO A-series paper standard. For poster printing, the most common sizes are:

  • A3 (297 × 420mm) — compact large format. Used for table displays, small framed graphics and supplementary event signage.
  • A2 (420 × 594mm) — popular for retail countertop displays, restaurant menus, event programmes and framed wall graphics.
  • A1 (594 × 841mm) — the most popular poster size in Singapore. Large enough to command attention, compact enough for most display stands and snap frames.
  • A0 (841 × 1,188mm) — the largest standard size. Maximum visual presence for exhibitions, trade shows, retail flagship displays and large event backdrops.
  • Custom size — dimensions outside the standard range can be entered directly into the price calculator.

All sizes are available across 12 different materials at ExpressPrint — more material variety than any other poster printer in Singapore.

Poster materials explained — all 12 options

Most Singapore poster printers offer 2–3 materials. ExpressPrint offers 12. Here’s what each one is for:

  • PP Poster Paper — the standard choice for indoor posters. Lightweight, smooth and cost-effective. Ideal for events, exhibitions and office use.
  • White PP — thicker, more opaque version of PP. Enhanced rigidity and a cleaner white base for more accurate colour reproduction.
  • PVC Banner — durable, weatherproof and designed for outdoor use. The standard material for hanging banners, event backdrops and outdoor signage.
  • Cotton Artist Canvas — a textured fine art surface for gallery-quality prints. Popular for wall décor, retail branding and hospitality interiors.
  • PVC Sticker (Removable) — applies to walls, glass, floors or smooth surfaces and removes without leaving residue.
  • OPP Transparent Sticker — a clear film sticker for a “no background” effect on glass, acrylic and smooth surfaces.
  • Silver (Matt) — non-reflective silver metallic surface. Popular for luxury retail and premium product launches.
  • Silver (Chrome) — mirror-finish silver. Maximum visual impact for high-impact signage and luxury brand activations.
  • Silver (Brushed) — directional textured silver. Warm and premium for corporate awards graphics and architectural signage.
  • Gold (Brushed) — warm textured gold. Rich and prestigious for luxury retail, hotel interiors and CNY campaigns.
  • Gold (Chrome) — mirror-finish gold. Bold and attention-commanding for luxury brand activations and high-end retail.
  • Hologram — rainbow iridescent surface that shifts colour with viewing angle. Used for product launches and entertainment events.

See Poster (with Mounting Board) if you need a rigid foam board backing — ideal for freestanding display on an easel stand or tripod bunting stand.

Poster with mounting board vs without — what’s the difference?

A poster with mounting board is printed and then mounted onto a rigid foam board backing — producing a flat, stiff display that stands on its own or hangs on a wall without drooping. Better for freestanding displays and situations where the poster needs to hold its shape.

A poster without mounting board is the print only — lighter and more flexible, suitable for inserting into a snap frame or framing yourself. Better for regular content updates and locations where you’re swapping the graphic frequently.

Why Mimaki UCJV300 UV inkjet — and why it matters for your poster

All ExpressPrint large format prints are produced on the Mimaki UCJV300 Series — a professional UV-LED inkjet printer. UV ink has higher colour density than solvent printing, resulting in more vivid, saturated colours that standard inkjet machines cannot match.

The UV ink cures instantly under LED light — no drying time, no lamination required. The flexible UV ink (LUS-200) has 200% stretchability after curing, meaning prints won’t crack or peel when the media is bent or handled. It also carries GREENGUARD Gold certification — safe for sensitive environments including schools and healthcare facilities.

This is why ExpressPrint poster prints do not require lamination. The UV ink is scratch-resistant straight off the machine.

How much does poster printing cost in Singapore?

Poster printing prices in Singapore vary by size, material and quantity. Standard A1 PP poster printing typically starts from under $10 for a single piece — though pricing varies depending on the material selected.

ExpressPrint uses a live price calculator — select your size, material and quantity for an instant price. No quote required. See poster printing for current pricing.

How to prepare your poster artwork file

Getting your artwork right before submitting prevents delays and ensures your poster prints as intended:

  • Format: PDF (PDF/X-1a standard) preferred. Also accepted: AI, PSD, TIFF, JPG or PNG at 150 DPI minimum at actual print size.
  • Colour mode: CMYK (4C). See CMYK printing guide for how to convert.
  • Bleed: 2mm on each side for posters without mounting board.
  • Safe zone: 4mm on each side — keep all important text and logos within this boundary.
  • Large files: Send a download link in the remarks field at checkout if your file exceeds 20MB.

A free artwork check is included on every order — the team reviews your file for resolution, colour mode and bleed before production begins.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most popular poster size in Singapore?

A1 (594 × 841mm) is the most popular poster size in Singapore — large enough to command attention from across a room, and compatible with most standard display stands and snap frames.

Does poster printing in Singapore require lamination?

Not at ExpressPrint. All posters are printed on the Mimaki UCJV300 UV-LED inkjet printer — UV ink cures instantly and is scratch-resistant straight off the machine. No lamination is required, saving time and cost.

Can I get a poster printed on metallic or hologram material in Singapore?

Yes. ExpressPrint offers poster printing on Silver (Matt), Silver (Chrome), Silver (Brushed), Gold (Brushed), Gold (Chrome) and Hologram materials — more metallic and specialty options than any other poster printer in Singapore. See poster printing for all options.

What is the difference between a poster and a bunting in Singapore?

A poster is a flat print typically displayed on a stand, wall or frame. A bunting is a flexible PVC banner designed for hanging outdoors or across a space using eyelets. Buntings are weatherproof; standard PP posters are not.

How do I choose between a rollup stand and a poster with foam board?

A rollup stand is portable with a retractable mechanism — ideal for exhibitions and events where you need to transport the display frequently. A poster with foam board on an easel is more economical and better suited for fixed or semi-permanent indoor displays.
